Family Counseling Service is a
501 (c) 3 agency. We are a United Way agency and are the only
counseling agency in Nevada accredited by the COA (Council for
Accreditation of Services for Families and Children, Inc) the Alliance
for Children and Families, National Foundation for Credit Counseling.
We have been offering counseling services since 1959. We are
funded through a variety of sources including: United Way of the
Sierras, government and public funding, fairshare, fundraisers,
donations and fees for services.
Staff: Our staff
consists of highly trained, licensed and certified counselors including:
psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, marriage and family therapists,
substance abuse counselors, and credit counselors.
Fees: Our fees
are based upon a sliding fee scale, scholarships and grants are available,
and most insurance is accepted.
Hours of Operation: We are open Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays, 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday by appointment only.

Board of Directors: We
are governed by a Board of Trustees that is comprised of business and
professional men and women. Our board meets once a month and sets policy
for our agency. They assist in a variety of tasks including fundraising,
legal matters, and human resources. If you are interested in joining
