Our mission is to assist individuals and families meet the opportunities and
challenges of the changing world. Family Counseling Service is a 501 (c) 3
agency. We are a United Way
agency and are the only counseling agency in Northern Nevada accredited by the
COA, the Alliance
for Children and Families, National Foundation of Consumer Credit Counselors. We
have been offering counseling services since 1959.
We are funded through a variety of sources including: United Way of the Sierras,
government and public funding, fairshare, and fees for services. We rely on
individual, community, and business donations to make the difference. Donations
go to the general operation of our agency and to provide fee waivers for low
income individuals and families who otherwise could not afford treatment. Here

Summer of Healing Camp. We are the only agency in the U.S. that offers a
free one week camp to children and teens who have been sexually abused.
