Family Counseling Service of Northern Nevada has been around since 1959, when Ike was President and Richard Nixon was vice-president. It was the same year Alaska and Hawaii became states and the Barbie doll was introduced to the world.

Northern Nevada’s oldest and most comprehensive counseling services are here to help you and your family. Certified counselors are available to aid your recovery from all types of issues including: depression, alcohol abuse, drug addiction, domestic violence, sexual abuse, crime and more.
Our experienced counselors can assist with marriage counseling, reuniting families, financial counseling and provide additional help as needed. Our staff includes psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed clinical social workers and NFCC certified credit counselors.
Individual and group therapy sessions are offered. Groups meet for drug and alcohol therapy and support for survivors of sexual abuse .
We accept many types of insurance and offer a sliding fee schedule for those clients without insurance coverage. We are conveniently located at 575 E. Plumb Lane in Reno, just a few blocks from the airport.
These days, many of the calls to our office are because of financial stress. Family Counseling's division of Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS) is also ready to serve.
