Kate Taormina LCSW, is a Clinical Social Worker at Family Counseling Service. Kate completed her undergraduate work and her Master's degree in Social Work from the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR). Kate completed her graduate internship with UNR Counseling Services providing therapy to college students and spent two years volunteering as an advocate for sexual assault survivors. Kate has training in Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Kate's recent focus has been to create a therapeutic practice that incorporates humanistic theories, trauma focused modalities and racial justice.
