We are now accepting applications for participants and volunteers for the 2021 Safe Families Conference!

                                                     Information about the Conference

Safe Families Treatment Conference is a conference that helps families recover from the detrimental effects of being a victim of crime, or impacted by a crime committed against family members. Examples include (but are not limited to):

     -Domestic Violence

     -Abuse or Neglect

     -Shootings or stabbings

This conference is for mothers and up to three children who have experienced family violence. The goal of this conference is to provide a healing environment for families while also allowing them to experience the joys of family fun activities.

Safe Families Conference consists of a resort style atmosphere coupled with a counseling component, which is essential for healing. Families will attend group therapy daily, and also have access to individual counseling if needed. Families will swim, bowl, do arts and craft, and engage in other fun Reno, Nevada activities. Families interact with all other families during the day, as well as Family Counseling Service staff and and volunteers.

You can mail your fully completed application to the address at the bottom of our website, or fax your application to 775-322-6930. If you are local, feel free to bring it in person.                                                       Volunteering for Conference

We are always looking for dedicated volunteers to help us with our conference.  Volunteers mentor attending youth, provide 24/7 supervision, and participate in family fun activities. They help engage kids, and provide direct support to the kids and the onsite therapists. Volunteers participate in activities with the families in the beautiful Grand Sierra Resort.  Volunteers must be able to pass a CANS registry check as well as a full back ground check. Please complete the entire application and provide a copy of your ID. If you are in Vegas or Henderson, please contact our office for details on how to get your background check. If you are in Reno, please come into the office to pick up your fingerprint card and get additional information. Thank you!
